Privacy Policy

X-Ticker ("the extension", "we", "us") is a Chrome extension developed by cFireInnovations. This policy explains exactly what data the extension accesses, why, and what happens to it.

Short version

X-Ticker does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to any server. There are no user accounts, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind. Everything the extension does happens locally in your browser.

What the extension accesses

• Page content on X / Twitter only — X-Ticker reads the visible text of posts on x.com and twitter.com to detect cryptocurrency cashtags (e.g. $BTC) and a curated list of ~20 major asset names (e.g. "Bitcoin", "Ethereum"). It does not read content on any other website.
• Your settings — hover delay, chart timeframe, theme (dark/light), language, and the plain-name detection toggle are saved using Chrome's storage.sync API. This data stays within your own Chrome profile and syncs only through your personal Google account, exactly like Chrome's built-in bookmark sync. We never receive a copy of it.

What the extension does NOT do

• It does not require or request an X/Twitter account, login, or API key.
• It does not access your wallet, balances, or trading history.
• It does not collect browsing history outside of X/Twitter.
• It does not use cookies, fingerprinting, or any tracking technology.
• It does not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties.
• It does not display third-party advertising.

Third-party content

When you hover a cashtag, X-Ticker loads a chart using TradingView's public, embeddable widget (s.tradingview.com/widgetembed). This is the same widget used by thousands of public websites. Loading this widget may cause your browser to make a request directly to TradingView's servers, subject to TradingView's own privacy policy. X-Ticker does not control or have access to any data exchanged in that request.

Some links inside the extension (such as "Chart by TradingView") use a TradingView affiliate referral link. Clicking it does not share any personal data — it simply opens TradingView's website in a new tab.

Donation QR codes

The extension's popup optionally displays QR codes for Binance Pay, Bybit Pay, and OKX Pay so users can voluntarily support the project. These are static images bundled with the extension — no payment data passes through X-Ticker itself, and scanning them opens the respective exchange's own app, subject to that exchange's privacy policy.

Permissions explained

• tabs — used only to open the welcome page on install, and to open external links (TradingView, cFireInnovations) in a new tab when you click them inside the extension popup.
• storage — used only to save your local preferences as described above.
• host_permissions (twitter.com, x.com) — required so the extension can run on X/Twitter and detect cashtags. X-Ticker is inactive on every other website.

Children's privacy

X-Ticker is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, regardless of age, since it collects no data at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will be revised. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
